Trust McFly to get their bums out when we weren’t looking

Posted at June 2nd, 2010 Under News by Annelieke | No Comments »

If we’d have seen this at the time, we would have run on the pitch and given it a firm but pleasurable slap. We can’t resist a bare arse, especially when it belongs to McFly.

We spoke to the highly-shaggable Harry and less-shaggable-but-we-probably-still-would Danny at the celebrity Soccer Six tournament for Samaritans yesterday, mostly about getting naked.

They weren’t allowed to tell us about the new McFly album, which is out in the summer, so we just talked about bums and willies. And why they always get theirs out (funnily enough, we spoke to them before this picture was taken).

Harry said: “We just find it amusing. We’ve done naked shoots and we’re always taking our clothes off anyway.

“It’s funny when fans Photoshop our heads onto naked pictures of men as well.”

Danny added: “We always get naked at house parties.”

“I’ll get naked right now,” Harry continued, sadly not while shaking off his shorts and throwing us to the ground.

And having performed at the same show as Miley ‘please stare at my boobs’ Cyrus at the weekend, we were interested to discover what they thought of Miley’s ‘please stare at my boobs’ outfit.

“How old is she? 17! Shit. Um, quite revealing, yes,” Harry spluttered, before realising he probably shouldn’t have said anything at all.

McFly v The Gays

Posted at May 30th, 2010 Under News by Annelieke | No Comments »

This is a strange one. McFly’s management company last week asked a popular gay message board to stop their users from posting (often half-naked) pictures of the band for other board-users to ogle at.

This is presumably not the same McFly who once stripped naked on stage at GAY to celebrate their single getting to number one.

Though, to be fair, it wasn’t the general distribution of half-naked photos by fans - gay or straight - that was specifically bothering the band’s people. They were seemingly pissed off that some private photos of the band had got online.

In fact the letter to FM Forums, asking for the ban to be put in place, apparently concluded: “We are continuing to investigate how these pictures leak out”.

Helping in that regard, said moderator observed: “I think you’ll find your band members are posting them on Twitter!”

This week, McFly’s management backtracked on their demand a little, possibly because of some moderate outrage from users on the FM Forums website, and possibly because someone pointed out that distributing half-naked photos of band members to their female and gay fanbase is at the heart of most of McFly marketing campaigns.

Instead of seeking an all out ban of photos of the band on the FM Forums, they asked that moderators filter out some specific photos - seemingly an official photo shoot that is not yet meant to be public, and some personal snaps posted by the McFly boys on their closed social networks. While stressing about the distribution of any photos online these days probably isn’t worth the hassle, the band would, at least, probably have a legitimate copyright claim over those photos.

If you’re new to sharing semi-naked pictures of McFly online, here’s one to get you started, taken from, er, McFly’s official website: www.mcflyofficial.com/gallery/popit.php?id=302

McFly music leaks from new album

Posted at May 18th, 2010 Under News by Webmiss | No Comments »

May 14th:
Several songs have leaked from McFly’s upcoming new album, and some of the fans aren’t happy with what they’re hearing.

The band have teased fans with talk of a new musical direction for months now, but a lot of the fans think they’ve gone a bit too mainstream in an attempt to appeal to more people.

‘I’ve heard the songs, and they’re not by the McFly I know and love’ one fan told us.

The high-quality clips are all over Youtube and two in particular, Foolish and Here Comes The Storm, seem to be the ones that the fans are finding a bit too different to McFly’s usual music.

You know that new sound you’ve been waiting for? Well listen to this.

Speaking of Here Comes The Storm, another fan said: ‘Do they think they’re JLS now?’

Rumour has it that the songs have leaked after fans hacked into email accounts – which we don’t condone. We all want to hear the songs but it takes away all the fun if you don’t wait for the album.

Anyway, Play.com have published a release date for the new album – 23d August 2010. (This date may change).

Have you heard any of the new music? What do you think?

May 17th:

Even more tracks from McFly’s upcoming album are being passed around between fans.

You’ve got to feel sorry for the boys, after yet another new track makes it’s way onto YouTube.

Dragon Ball (now also on YouTube) is one of a rumoured eight tracks to have made their way on to the net – possibly at the hands of a hacker.

The fans are divided into three groups: those who love the new tunes, those who don’t like the new tunes because they’re ‘not McFly’ and those who refuse to listen to the music until it is released officially.

In a previous post about the songs, fans commented with:

‘i personally didn’t hear any of the songs. i don’t think is fair to the guys[sic]‘

‘I LOVE their new sound. Yeah it’s not the same, more upbeat and pop-ish, but it’s still McFly[sic]‘

‘I think they are being very brave, and time will tell if it pays off. But I don’t think they had the option of releasing another Radio:Active/Motion in The Ocean style album. Its this or nothing.[sic]‘

‘I think Hotel on a Hill is a bit mcflyish…But Foolish and Here Comes The Storm is like JLS.  That’s not McFly anymore, I think.[sic]‘

‘i am a real fan and i dont like it! it sounds nothing like the mcfly i love. just because you are a mcfly fan dosent mean you have 2 like everything they do[sic]‘

‘None of these songs are ready yet. So…there’s nothing for us, McFLY fans, talk about![sic]‘

Remember that these are leaked tracks and may not be finished versions of the songs.

We do not condone the sharing of these files.
