Tom Fletcher was in a car with his parents when it was hit by a taxi late last night. He also Tweeted afterwards saying, “Had a car crash in my parents car. Everyone’s fine. Crazy cab hit us and dad’s lovely Jag saved us all…but it got wrecked in the process.” They all went straight to hospital but the only injuries were some bruises, cuts and a spot of whiplash.(heatworld.com)

McFly star lights up charity Christmas party

A popstar made a surprise visit to the Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust Christmas party on Sunday.

McFly frontman Tom Fletcher dropped by Oakley Court in Windsor for the bash, attended by children under the care of Wexham Park Hospital Trust, together with children from the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

Tom, who is lead singer for the chart-topping band, said:  “It was great to meet some of these amazing children and their families, and it really brought home to me just how much these families need a local children’s hospice.

“I think the work Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust is doing is fantastic, and I hope they achieve their aim of building the hospice in the very near future.”

The star-studded bash was also attended by Tony Blackburn, Coronation Street star Patti Clare and Sarah Lark, who is currently appearing in Oliver! in the West End.

More than 30 families enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas fun.
Fiona and John Devine who founded the charity in memory of their son, said: “It was wonderful to meet so many of the families who are now being supported by Lucy, our community paediatric palliative care nurse, and also families from West Berkshire who would also benefit from having a children’s hospice in the county.” (maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk)
